While rehabbing a knee injury and working toward an NFL comeback, Chad Pennington was hurt during the earthquake that rocked the east coast this afternoon. Pennington was on the other side of the country at the time but when he heard about the quake from a friend he reportedly grabbed for his throwing shoulder and fell to the ground in agony. Witnesses say the scene was quite odd, with nothing falling on or even near Pennington. The two-time comeback player of the year has a history of freak injuries, the last of which being a torn ACL suffered during a game of pickup basketball. He has plans to work as an analyst for Fox sports until his injuries heal. He is scheduled for Tommy John surgery tomorrow though doctors are not sure what they are actually repairing.
